i have these chars almost purely for the professions which are all maxed out except for inscription although my lock has reasonable gear and i do enjoy doing alt runs with her

Character specific questions


Explain your current gear choices and how you hope to improve them in the future, meaning which stats do you prioritize and why.ofc my first stat i prioritize is hit rating and aim to be capped at all times after that its spell power but i dont have to think to much about that as it takes care of itself as i upgrade my gear, my main focus on gearing i suppose would then have to be haste i try to pack as much haste as possible into my gear i will take crit/haste gear if there are no pure haste pieces available but haste shouts louder at me than crit does, to improve my gear, ideally im aiming for around 1000 haste so at 770 i still need a fair bit but this is my goal for having the gear that would allow me to put out my max dps in theory.


Comment on how you've chosen to gem and enchant your character, and why you have chosen these gems/enchants.as im a JC i have my 3 39sp gems, all red sockets get 23 sp, all yellow sockets get 12sp + 10 haste and almost all blue sockets get 12sp+10 spirit, although i dont value spirit too highly so if the socket bonus isnt great i would ignore the bonus to take pure sp in the blue socket as for my enchants ive ofc goen for spell power everywhere except my boots where i choose the run speed boost


What glyphs are you using and why?glyph of arcane blast - this is my main spell
glyph of arcane missiles - my filler spell, along with arcane blast these are my most important spells
glyph of molten armor - sadly even though i dont rate spirit very highly this is the best of the glyphs that are left


Could you point out the strong points and focus of your spec?my spec is really just the bread and butter of arcane mage specs it allows me to gain the most spell power and haste possible from my talents while providing a small damage boost to all raid members, it also allows me to conserve my mana a little better with a mana cost reduction talent and with regular clear casting procs, ive also taken slow this time, not all mages have this one but i find it very usefull on specific fights for instance kitting zombies at dreamwalker or for the surfang fight, i find it usefull for 2 reasons the most obvious being i get to kill the mob before it gets to me because its slower but also since its not being tanked this talent allows me to gain torment of the week on my target which i usualy really on tanks applying.


Do you have any notable offspec gear and are you experienced/up to date with the mechanics of playing your offspecs? my offspec is fire/arcane and i know the theory behind playing it and im up to date with the spec and rotation to play it but i dont have enough crit gear to pull of the spec properly

General questions

Previous guilds and reasons for leaving?angels of darkness, im now the oldest member left in aod and it looks like if i stay im gonna be left on my tod :-( , with lots of my old friends already left to join eternals and some applying at the moment the time seams right to move on



What role do you feel you provide in a raid and what areas of strengths do you feel your class and spec has over others? mages provide some really nice burst damage since i do more damage depending on how much mana i can afford to lose, if something has to die rather fast then i can afford to burn a good bit of mana to get the job done then evoc or mana gem to reclaim my mana, this will happen mostly if there is alot of switching between adds and boss, we can also be used for kitting having slowing abilities and good dps to burn down adds. mages also have strong aoe. we are also there to cc and decurse when needed



What 1 thing would you change about your class if you could? at the moment i wouldnt change a thing but i would like to stop the change coming with cata where we do more damage when we have more mana, i just dont get that, whats the point of having 30k mana if i cant use it lol, ill have to keep myself above a certain lvl to do my best damage i like the way we work at the monet cause i can burn alot of mana very very fast and do really nice damage, but then again im sure once the changes happen it wont be as bad as i imagine **i pray**



What do you think you can add to Eternals?i take raiding seriously, im dedicated and will happily wipe all night and night after night to get a boss down, when im not being serious i like to have a good laugh,



What do you think Eternals can do for you?well i havent been there so i cant really say but what id hope for would be to have some fun playing the game i love with what id be able to call a group of friends


Do you know anyone from Eternals who might have something nice to say about you? well not sure if they will talk nice about me but i do know trump and potions and now ofc xida

Ok after readin a WALL of text abaut mages talents,specs rotatation and general wow shit i have a few questions to ask u cause aparently our mages are to lazy to post on forums.
Spec seems fine now i was probably lookin the other spec where u have slow and 13 points in frost tree - so i was bit confused but im thinkin u have that for saurfang fight, right?
Think u lost a bit of dps with geming on 2 places, i might not be correct but cud u check it out?
You are 91 hit above cap yet u still have prety bad hit bracers do u have anythin to replace em with?
Also taht staff is crap - do u have anythin else to replace em with

hi, ok my spec yes , i had the slow for specific fights and also the extra points in frost to give myself a stronger aoe for trash, but since i realise ill never use the fire spec i had for off i got rid and changed it to a stronger arcane spec, not sure what im gonna do with my off spec now, ill most lily leave it as it is and might still use it for specific fights but im wondering how much worth while it is for such short periods of time i may not even bother and just use the new spec in all fights

gems i think u are talking about my boots and belt which i dont mind changing after i post this , when i run kas through rawr i get 3 points if i change my gems there for the socket bonus.

hit cap, while in aod we didnt have a shadow priest so i had to have my hit rating a little higher to keep myself capped i can drop the hit by swapping my boots for sandles of concecration which would be a temp mesure till i can get Plague Scientist’s Boots which *cry* i had already won in the last raid i did in aod but then decided to give them to our priest cause he needed them more and i didnt know the guild was about to fall apart lol

the staff i actuallly quite like as when i tested it on the training dummy the valk'yr was doing just a fraction under 2k dps for 30 seconds and can proc up to 3 times at once ive never been a huge fan off staffs though ive always prefered the main and off hand, what im aiming for is Rigormortis and Shadow Silk Spindle.

rotation, i always start any boss fight with a macro - /cast icy veins
/cast arcane power
/use talisman of resurgence
/cast mirror image
i then pretty much spam arcane blast till i get a missile barrage proc, although i wont cast the missiles till at after my 4th blast ill go almost all of each fight using these 2 as my only nuke spells unless i have to move then i use arcane barrage (and fire blast while arcane barage is on its gc and im still moving) i press the macro again as soon as arcane power comes of cd which allows me then to have my full macro reacharged 1.4 mins later. if i've found myself using evoc its usualy when the boss is a fair bit below 50% so i can afford to hit a few more arcane blasts b4 my i use my proc although i do want to try and keep up my haste buff which i get from using the proc. for trash i use my flamestrike macro to cast the highest and the one below before spamming blizzard.

think ive covered everything u have asked and i really hope my answers are good enough
