Blackwing Descent: Chimaeron
This fight is all about mechanics imposed by a helpful add that wanders around during the entirity of the fight. The Bile-O-Tron gives the entire raid this buff:
Finkle's Mixture: damage taken while above 10000 health cannot reduce your health below 1.
This fight is extremely healing intensive and a real healer check.
Chimaron's abilities in Phase 1 (100%-20% health)
Melee attacks apply Break Debuff: 25% stacking increased physical damage.
Double Strike: Short lived buff that make next melee attack hit twice.
Caustic Slime: targets random raid member. Deals ~300K damage to all enemies in 6 yards and decreases chance to hit for 5 seconds.
Massacre: AOE raid damage bringing entire raid to 1 health.
Feud: Lasts 30seconds. Chimerons Heads fight amongst themselves. Unable to do Melee attacks but continues doing caustic slime. For this duration Bile-o-tron is offline.
Chimaron's abilities in Phase 2 (20%-0% health)
Double Strike: Short lived buff that make next melee attack hit twice.
Mortality Debuff: Applied to all raid memebers. Reduces healing taken by 99% and increases damage done by 20%.
Tactics:
Phase 1:
2 tanks for boss, taunt switching on double strike.
Raid spreads out so only one random person is being hit by the poison bolt. When the person is hit they are reduced to 1HP. Healers need to bring them back up to 10000 life ASAP.
When Chimaron uses massacre, all raid need to get to above 10k HP asap. Not much point healing people more than that, except tanks.
When the boss uses Feud, THE RAID LOOSES Finkle's Mixture buff. Whilst feud is up raid needs to stack on tanks so caustic slime damage is shared, this will be about 30k per person. Healers will need to spam AOE heals to get through the massacres and raidwide caustic slimes. When feud wears off the raid spreads out again.
Phase 2:
Pop heroism. Tanks use defensive cooldowns. Healers start dpsing. Healing is useless. Boss no longer uses any major abilitis and will kill people one-by one until he dies or the raid wipes.
Hints: Except when feud is up all raid members (except tanks) only need to have 10k life. Trying to get the entire raid back to full life after a massacre will mean we run OOM and the people who are left till last may die to Poison bolts. When Feud is up all raid should be stacked so healers can use their new AOE heals and bring people up from massacre quickly before everyone is one-shot by the next posion bolt. As we hit enrage the raid should be a full health.
It may be Massacre that temporarily shuts down the Bile-O-Tron and starts Fued. If this is the case the raid should gather up just before Massacre is cast. This will also help bring everyone above 10k
quickly.
*Update*: The boss appears to hit hard, very, very hard. With 2 stacks of break it will be doing about 130k damage each attack on the tank. Good thing is it attacks very slowly so healers will be able to get the tank above 10k after eack attack to avoid instant death. Given this knowledge is does appear that the ability double strike becomes a lot more important. Basically it seems the free tank should taunt when this ability is about to land as no tank will be able to survive 2 instant hits from the boss with any stacks of break up.
