General information

Character name: Palabulous
Class: Paladin
Race: Draenei
Armory link: Palabulous's Armory
UI screenshot: http://s.guildomatic.com/191279/host/68/682d3cd0e1ce39466ee84485881e2afb.jpg
Main addons shown there. Currently trying to display the buffs/debuffs in a better way but still trying out a few things. Can always give you more specific information if asked to.
Should really taunt that Snowflake Smile
Played Time on your character (and how much of that at level 80): 86days total, 71days at lvl 80
Professions and level of professions:
Jewelcrafting: 455
Inscription: 450 (Happy to change if requested for a proffession that gives more EH)
Cooking: 450
Fishing: 450

Do you have a stable Internet connection (Yes/No and average MS in raids):
Yes. Only time I have ever dropped out was doing [Many Welps] in Onyxia. Disabling information sharing addons sorted that out Smile
Average latency in 25mans is 30-60 (using latency fix patch)

Nope. Started playing towards the end of BC, my brother got me into it although he no longer plays (Shmacks from Lost)

Character specific questions

Explain your current gear choices and how you hope to improve them in the future, meaning which stats do you prioritize and why.
Since ToC, tanking has mainly been about EH so stamina and to a lesser extent armour are priorities. Dodge and parry are obviously also tanking priorities and for certain fights a high avoidance set can be more beneficial than EH (but not many).
Threat for a paladin is not too great an issue but aiming for the hit and expertise cap can help with those tricky inital aggro gains. Obviously going over cap would be a waste of stat budget that I would better spend on EH/Avoidance.
Trinkets are useful to switch around depending on the fight and always have both stamina and avoidance trinkets on me at all times.
Regarding future improvements I would be thinking about getting the Emblem 264 chest for the extra armour and expertise. I would then get more hit from the T10.5 gloves I am not using. I have not switch yet as in my current guild threat has not been an issue and incoming damage is not high enough for me to drop avoidance. My neck, weapon and shield could also do with upgrades, and I have been passing on tokens to upgrade my shoulders to help the DPS/Healers (Damn you Trumpetka Very Happy).

Comment on how you've chosen to gem and enchant your character, and why you have chosen these gems/enchants.
Gemming: Meta is Stamina/Armour. 1 dodge/stamina gem to obtain the highest stamina socket bonus and activate the meta, the rest pure stamina. The 3 JC gems are all stamina.
Enchants: The usual tanking enchants on gear. Chest could have the +225 health instead of the +10 stats. Have the inscription shoulder enchant and if I drop inscription I am revered with Sons of Hodir.

What glyphs are you using and why?

Major:
Glyph of Divine Plea: Constant 3% damage mitigation, yes please!!
Glyph of Righteous Defence: Our taunt is a spell so needs 17% hit. Glyph + normal hit rating means no wipes due to fail tank switching.
Glyph of Hammer of the Righteous: I currently have this over Glyph of Seal of Vengeance as in my current guild threat is not an issue and this makes picking up adds/heroics easier.

Minor:
Glyph of Sense Undead: Some more damage against the scourge, yipee
Glyph of Lay on Hands: Best of a bad bunch
Empty: A protest against the utterly useless paladin minor glyphs, but could put Glyph of Blessing of Might

Could you point out the strong points and focus of your spec?
The protection spec has a few points that can be varied. I have gone into Divine Guardian/Divine Sacrifice for a 6 second 20%raid damage reduction. Useful for things like Blood Queens flying phase, Festergut's blight etc.
2 points in Improved Judgements for those fights when the 969 rotation is not viable
SoC for rapid picking up of multiple adds (incredible for rot worms in Dreamwalker)
Pursuit of Justice for all the running out of fire

Do you have any notable offspec gear and are you experienced/up to date with the mechanics of playing your offspecs?
I maintin a Retribution spec and currently have 4 set T10 for it, GS ~5.5k for the little that addon is worth. Whilst nowhere near the damage that Shiatan can do (damn your lovely Legendary Weapon) I can do about 7-8kdps and am fully up-to date with the very complicated and challenging Ret rotation.

General questions

Previous guilds and reasons for leaving?
I have been in Angels of Darkness for the majority of my WoTLK raiding and after our last GM quit I was asked to take over. Unfortunately is has been impossible to get enough dedicated raiders who are willing to log on and progress.

What role do you feel you provide in a raid and what areas of strengths do you feel your class and spec has over others?
I feel it is the tanks role to prevent people killing themselves, and people who have raided with me know I have great raid awareness and will predict and prevent problems before they happen.
Paladins currently are in a good place with regards to tanking. As well as exceptional threat generation and damage mitigation, I also provide the 6sec raid wall and various "hands" that can help out people in tricky situations.

What 1 thing would you change about your class if you could?
Hmm, so many options. Actually I'd like a good interrupt. I can cope with the poor magic damage mitigation and lack of "oh shit" cooldowns, but a regular stun would really help in fights when the roges/shamen/Dks/Warriors etc are busy and I have a 40k frostbolt being charged in-front of my face.

What do you think you can add to Eternals?
I can provide you with a reliable Tank who is always happy to raid and having been a raid leader before will not QQ about being sat out or not getting loot. As opposed to some others, I tank because I enjoy the challenge and love the responsibility. I keep up to date on all current tactics/specs via the usual sites and am always happy to joke around on vent and take part in achievement farming.

What do you think Eternals can do for you?
Provide a guild environment where talent is valued, progress is desired and people are able to build upon failure to achieve success.

Do you know anyone from Eternals who might have something nice to say about you?
I can bribe Potions and Trumpetka to be nice about me Smile

Personal information; Name, age, where you live, interests/hobbies, Job and family that will nag you to stop raiding?
Robert Garesse, 29, currently living in London. Working as a hospital doctor so do have the occasional on-call and night shifts that make me not able to raid but they are predictable (One day every 2 weeks). Living with GF who also plays WOW so no family commitments to stop me raiding.

Additional information which you would like to name?
I know you are not currently recruiting my class/spec but hope you will consider this application. With the ending of an expansion there is greater guild turnover and I hope I would be able to fill any spots you have. Thanks.

Palabulous doesn't need to bribe me at all (sure Trump will say the same) and since I was too late to champion Xida's application I can champion Palabulous now Smile

In my opinion, he is the best paladin tank I have ever played with. Raid awareness, skill, knowledge of spec are all top notch. Also he has good knowledge of encounters - a must for a tank.

Some people did Yogg +1 attempts with him last week and hopefully forged a good opinion also.

With Xida joining us, it was only time before Palab would apply. I hope there is room for an active, excellent paladin tank.

Wish you luck with your application.

Best Paladin tank, sigh. I forgive you that "tokens for upgrade part".

Not much to say, he is well aware of fact that he is good, lets not add any more to his already big ego...

Now seriously: This is a chance to get extremely skilled player for free. Its like meeting guy on street who gives you new ferrari - honestly, no Cocaine or dead bodies in trunk.
