General information
Hi, my name is Ellezar, and I'm currently arcane spec mage.
I prefer fire though, but hey, you go with the flow, right?
I've been playing wow just as the BC came out, and Mage was always
my favorite class.

Also, I should probably apologize beforehand for my outdated equipment, but due to some choices I made IRL
I was offline for about 2 months. But now I'm back, ready and rolling.

Do you have pre-WotLK raiding experience, if so what?
Not much Gruul and Khara. but that were different times where only a handful of dedicated guilds made it pass that.

What raiding experience do you have in WotLK? Please include which bosses you've done on heroic mode.
In WotLK raiding really started for me, so I did most of the normal raids 10/25 but then I got into <WAR> where we made a fine progression on 10 player normal Ulduar.
But unfortunately neither guild I was in from, including the <WAR> didn't do hard modes.

Explain your current gear choices and how you hope to improve them in the future, meaning which stats do you prioritize and why.
What I'm equipped with now was a pretty much standard for a raiding mage back few months ago when Totc was still the main end game raid, so I'm wearing everything I could get my hands on.


Comment on how you've chosen to gem and enchant your character, and why you have chosen these gems/enchants.
I use to experiment a lot with specs/glyph/enchants/gems to find an optimal spec to play with. Off course I do it in my spare time in game, not on raid times. (I always use tested spec on raid times). So most of my enchants and gems are a product of those calculations. If anyone have a question about my choices I'm happy to answer, because, explaining it here would take too long.
Except that yellow +20crit, I should probably change that to haste.


What glyphs are you using and why?
Glyph of arcane blast: Main nuke dmg +3%
Glyph of Arcane missiles: second main nuke crit dmg +25%
Glyph of molten armor: ensures I get a lot more dmg from the second nuke.

Could you point out the strong points and focus of your spec?
The goal is: while maintaining the perfect crit/haste/mana balance, to find an ultimate
constant dmg output throughout the raid fight with minimal spec changes.

That is my strong point. I can put a constant dps throughout the whole fight where little matters how much
time I spent moving or doing anything else. You can always count that dps will be constant.

My week side is I can't put much more dps when is needed. i.e. When boss is on 3-4% all should nuke like hell
so they can raise dps significantly.


Do you have any notable offspec gear and are you experienced/up to date with the mechanics of playing your offspecs?


We require you to have at least one crafting profession (not engineering). If you have two gathering professions, would you be prepared to reroll one?
I don't have it.



General questions

Previous guilds and reasons for leaving?
<WAR> One of my favs. And I still have a lot of friends from it. It went inactive some time ago
I used to run Ulduar with them. From the beginning when we went in right till General Vezax. Fun times.
<Serious Business> I raided Totc10/25 and ICC10/25 with them. They are pretty organized and fair guild.
But their loot distribution system is a nightmare. They tend to change it a lot haha. But that wasn't the reason
for me leaving. As I said in the beginning, I was pretty disappointed with wow at the time and I though of leaving the game. So I was offline few months.

What role do you feel you provide in a raid and what areas of strengths do you feel your class and spec has over others?
As said before on my applications, I'm a go get guy. You want something done fast and reliable you call me.
I.e. in my previous guild, I was in charge of completing specific tasks in the fight mechanics. Like harpoons in ulduar, or cc of adds on Saurfang and stuff like that.


What 1 thing would you change about your class if you could?
Redesigned the amplify magic and mana shield spells.


What do you think you can add to Eternals?
Reliable non-bitching, non-moaning raider.


What do you think Eternals can do for you?
Except the rep you get from being in one of the best guilds on the server, with you people i can expect to
see the end game as soon as possible.


Do you know anyone from Eternals who might have something nice to say about you?
Probably, let me see, ah yes, Tyrex. I think he was in <FIBUA> with me, but I can't be sure though, that was a long time ago.

I have 30 years, and I live alone, and have a stable income and job which is C++ programmer for a private firm.
And no, nobody can nag me to stop playing wow.

I do have a few questions regarding your gear choice, choice of gems, and spec.
For gear and gems: I'm wondering how you value the stats haste / crit / spellpower / hit / spirit; in which order of importance i mean. Would be nice if you could clarify this and explain why you value them in that order.
For spec: I noticed you have 3 points in Student of the Mind, do you run into mana issues without, or is there another reason for having the 3 points there? I'm also curious what the current dps value is of Incanter's Absorption, as it's been nerfed considerably, no longer working with non-mage shields.. making it a rather situational talent point.

Ah yes, I see now that this was mentioned in the question.
For my current arcane spec I vent SP, then haste then crit/spirit and hit in the end (assuming I'm hit-capped) in order of importance. That's why I said I should probably change +20crit gem I have for haste one.
When geming; if I can I will gem in a way to enable gem bonuses on items but if bonus for wrong gems in slot exceeds right slot bonus then I have no choice.

Yes, I put 3 points in student of mind because it stacks with my Glyph of molten armor gaining additional around 2.5% crit chance which together with glyph of arcane missiles makes quite nice dps increase.
I don't have mana issues

dps value of IA? It's nonexistant and hardly useful if you ask me.
Consider this: Max you absorb with fire/frost ward is around 2000 dmg. 15% (assuming you absorb whole thing at once) So about +300 dmg max situational dmg.
I don't even wanna talk about getting hit with a mana shield on. This could get you a massive dmg, but hey, what use of it when you have no mana and you got hit. I mean we're a mages; we don't get hit right?
I kept 1 point int it for those situational purposes.

Played with this guy when we were in WAR. Pretty decent mage.
