Sphinxlol – Holy Paladin Application

Personal Information
I am 18 years old
Born and bred in Britain.

Characters
I have played wow for just more than 3 years now coming on 4 years. I have levelled a warlock to 70/ Hunter to 80 and a warrior to 60. I have more than 400 days /played time across all my characters. (no life much )

Theorycraft and Gameplay
I do Theorycraft a lot using add-ons such as wowequip/procmeter/recount and WWS for data. I occasionally post on the wow class forums to further my knowledge but I don’t follow sites in a parrot fashion and actually understand why I chose this spec over another why I should gem X instead of Y. I believe learning is key to bettering yourself as a player.
I also key bind almost all my spells except consumables, a funny story happened when we were raiding brutallus I went to pop a haste pot which was bound to G9 and pressed G12 repeatedly and used 7 flasks in the space of 10 seconds. I believe keybinding most of your spells improves hand eye co ordination and results in faster reflexes.

This would depend on what role I am taking on and my gear level.
I have Dual spec and i am Ret(grinding/soloing purposes) Gear is naxx10/25? level.

Stat Priorities
Intellect is our BEST stat and should stack It once we have enough BH from gear. We are never in the 5SR to use Spirit effectively. Spell power increases healing. Crit scales very well with high end gear.
Intellect > SP = Crit > Haste > Mp5


Gear & Enhancements
I Believe I have explained this above. Obviously the shoulder/head enchants are a given. (still working on those and my gear) Naxx 25 with a pug is crazy dont even want to try Sarth with drakes :/ I know my gear is not upto standards but im sure i can keep up.

Glyphs
Glyph of Holy Light- it can be very effective at healing when the whole raid takes damage. (need moar AoE healing spells!)

Glyph of Divinity: 2x more mana when using Lay on Hands, you get as much mana as target gets. This is my “oh **** I’m oom” or my reply to “SOMEONE INNERVATE ME” and the druid says “CD”.

Glyph of Seal of Wisdom: Spells cost 5% less mana. 5% less mana adds up. It'll help me last longer during mana intensive fights (say Sapph with two healers).


Rotation
Beacon and Sacred shield before pull.
Judge light on skull. +3% Crit to the group, and +15% haste for me. Tanks have to know this routine. (Assuming paladin is holy/ret. Holy/prot pallies have less Crit, but more popular buffs.)
First FoL should get the Crit bonus from Sacred Shield.
If you have a DK tank, watch bone shield or icebound fortitude, and switch to holy light the instant it goes down.
Rotation depends a lot on the type of damage people are receiving. Is it going to be a long fight with lots of damage over the duration of the fight? Then I’ll use more FoL to save mana. If it is going to be a shorter (<2 minute) fight, but with very hard hits, I will use Holy light and holy shock more.


Consumables
Money is not really a issue for me, I make most of my money using the auction house and some other neat skills I have learnt. I always get the best enchants for my spec and gear regardless of price on items I know I will keep for longer than 2 weeks. I always keep a weeks consumables in advance in case of any impromptu raids or helping out a friend. I will always be stocked up on potions and that varies on the encounter (haste/mana/hp).

Again it would depend on my current stats and encounter which one I use.
Flask of the Frost Wyrm - A solid throughput increase
Spellpower/Mighty Thoughts beat out Frost Wyrm (67 SP vs 45 Int), but is more expensive to keep up while learning a boss but I would probably use those of farm bosses.
They discontinued weapon oils so wont be using those.

Add-ons and UI
I use many add-ons which is not necessarily a good thing. I like to keep my Ui minimalistic when I’m raiding (screen space is your friend)

Professions
Currently I have 290 Enchanting and Jewelcrafting, both I am levelling as I write . Going for Jewel crafting for the 3 gems (which provide Meta bonus easily-not for long ) and nice boost to any stat. My other profession will be enchanting for the ring enchants (+38SP) I realise that Blacksmithing beats enchanting by +4 Spell power or something? But enchanting comes in use more than BS  Will be maxing out cooking/Fishing and First aid in the coming weeks.

Raiding
Vanilla
This is when I first started playing and raiding. Cleared Molten Core just before the expansion. Although as a member of Reflection EU Auchindoun at level 60(TBC) we cleared vanilla including a few naxxaramas bosses.
TBC
Killed Vashj and Kael on warlock iirc after the nerf
Killed Illidan pre shear nerf
Mu’ru before the content nerf (yes we got brutallus)
Kil’jaeden Killed post content nerf.
WOTLK
Horde first 10 man naxx
Horde second 25 man naxx (by 10 minutes)
Sarth+3D 10 and 25 man.



Guild History
The Three Hundred – Nagrand. This guild was very social but no real pve progress. I still keep in touch with some of them (Vent/TS
Oracle/The Betrayer – PvE based on Nagrand – High end but slow progress
Lockdown – Deathwing – Average PvE progress – quit the game due to studies
And now its dragged me back in again 

Availability
I will be available from 6.30gmt – 12gmt everyday of the week, but as it says in your requirements “sometimes something unavoidable comes up and you can't raid”. If this does happen it will be very rare and I will inform the guild.

Other Info
I am not one that QQ’s about raid spots or gear as both come with patience, I just want to have a small guild with friends and excellent progress.
What do I bring to the guild? 100% raid attendance, 4 years experience of wow, and a player willing to sit out and wait until called for on vent. Extremely sociable player on vent, thick skinned and take everything in my stride. Takes constructive criticism on how to improve and helps people in the guild.
I will be starting a job at Lloyds TSB in the summer (9 – 5) Hopefully I will be home and have had tea before I am on for raids.

I suggest taking the Glyph of Flash of Light over this. Even though this glyph makes lay on hands a nice extra boost of mana, I noticed myself keeping it in most ulduar fights as a panic heal more often. the 5% crit on flash of light overall is ofc a much bigger boost then an improvement on something with such a long cooldown as LoH.

Apart from that one glyph, you also messed up your spec links completly :d 23/5/15 and 23/0/20 I take it arent your real specs

a really nice application overall tbh only thing that really bothers me is the gear issue. I know how much a paladin can struggle when not geared well enough for the content, and your gear doesnt even come close to standards.

One question? In what ways are you working on improving atm apart from proffesions?

Yeah i currently have the 5% FoL glyph - was just thinking ahead when im geared enough and have enough SP and Mana.

Picking up Nobles deck and the JC trinket as soon as i can.

Running atleast 4 Heroics a day for the badge gear and some upgrades i can get - Running WG as often as i can for some gear - doing the odd bit of pvp too
Was even thinking of Crafting both the JC Neck and/or Ring but seeing as they will get replaced fast i decided against it.
Getting rep with the factions that have gear upgrades and enchants.

Trying to pug 10/25 Instances for any chance i can get on any gear but doesnt really work well with people failing so hard on thaddius
My guild doesnt really raid much and am only in it for company.
Iv played horde for 4 years and this is my first alliance.
my friend said this server was nice and maybe it is but i dont really know anyone except him :/

and yeah i just use light atm in PuGs because other paladins dont have it or just dont care :/
