General information:

Characters name: Borrismorris
Class: Paladin
Race: Human
Armory link: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Ghostlands&n=Borrismorris
UI screenshot: Will take tommorow Smile
Played Time on your character: 95 days 13h 51mins
Profesions and level of professions: Mining 450 and JC at 310 leveling at the moment
Do you have a stable internet connection (Yes/No and average MS in raids): Very stable ping at about 120ms

What other characters do you have?
I have a level 80 DK tank with not so bad gear and a level 62 shammeh Very Happy

Raid times and Experience:

We raid 7 days a week, days and times could possibly change in the future, please delete yes or no below depending on whether you would be able to attend or not. (server times)
Monday 19:30-00:00 - Yes
Tuesday 19:30-00:00 - Yes
Wednesday 19:30-00:00 - Yes
Thursday 19:30-00:00 - Yes
Friday 19:30-xx:xx - Yes, until heart stops beating? >Very Happy
Saturday 19:30-xx:xx - Yes also until hearts gives out lol
Sunday 19:30-23:00 - Yes

Do you have pre-WotLK raiding experience, if so what?
I have experience up to BT but not illidan, and i did not attempt sunwell unfortunately.
Character specific questions:

Explain your current gear choices and how you hope to improve then in the future.
At the moment i have gone for gear that has block value and block rating on this, my block at the moment stops about 1.76k damage and my shield slam crits for around 9-10k unbuffed. This is not only effective for defense and not taking too much damage but creating a lot of threat in a small period of time. If i can get it i also like to get gear with a bit more strength on it to increase my block value further but also do not deviate to much from dodge as a dodge ofc can save you where as a block cannot.

Comment on how youve chosen to gem and enchant your character, and why you have chosen these gems/enchants.

I have mostly gone for stamina apart from my meta gem which is 21 defense and 5% block value which is nice for threat and defense cap. I have also gone for 1 parry defense and 1 expertise and defense orange gems as to activate my meta gem. other than that i have gone for stamina as paladin threat scales with stamina.

What glyphs are you using and why?
I am using Glyph of divine plea, Glyph of hammer of righteous and glyph of seal of vengeance. I use the glyph of divine plea because during a boss fight with the talent guarded by the light divine please is up 90% of the time and having 3% damage reduction on top of all my other reduction makes it easier on the ehalers. I am using glyph of hammer of righteous mainly for when tanking trash as there are usually 4 mobs( dont ask me why but blizz are insane Very Happy) and there can be more so hitting one extra target for 4-5k on crit is a massive threat boost. I am using glyph of seal of vengeance for the extra expertise which takes my expertise up to 27 so this makes it very unlikely that i will get block/parry/dodged from a boss

Do you have any notable offspec gear and are you experience/up to date with the mechanics of playing your offspecs?
I have recently switch to holy for my off spec and have just started collcting gear. I am more or less up to date with paladin healing at the moment but i could use some tips Very Happy.

We require you to have at least one crafting profession (not engineering). If you have two gathering professions, would you be prepared to reroll one?
As i am leveling JC then this is fine Very Happy. I did however used to have herbing and mining but i thought this was pointless and wasnt making much money so i switched to JCing. And if it helps my DK is a 450 Elixir master and a herber Smile

General questions

Previous guilds and reasons for leaving?
I am currently in Risen but due to lack of prgoress and lack of serious raiding i am being drawn to a more experience and more serious raiding enviroment. i have however in the past raided with cake back in the burning crusade and that is the guild which i got most of my raiding experience with. But risen and cake are the main guilds that i have raided with in game.

What role do you feel you provide in a raid and what areas of strengths do you feel your class and spec has over others?
A paladin has 3 ways to go DPS/Tank?Healer and is now proficient in all 3 catergories. My spec offers maximum threat with no loss to damage reduction or HP which makes the healers job slightly easier. I am a very aware tank that can spot problems before they happen and can most of the time sort them, out before they have even occured if it is within my power.

What 1 thing would you change about your class if you could?
Well tbh the onne thing that i would change is the pally bubble, its a bit too OP in all walks of the game and paladins would benefit from maybe a HoT rather than a bubble.

What do you think you can add to Eternals?
I think that i can add a very good tank and a very nice person Very Happy wop! i can also lend a hand to anyone that wants it. I am very focused in raids and will not slack off until the job is done Smile.

What do you think Eternals can do for you?
I do not wish to be geared to the Max as i do not only want gear from raiding but i want the experience of raiding aswell. I think that eternals can give me a proffesional and progressive raiding experience whatever boss/raid we do.

Personal infomation; Name, age, where you live, interests/hobbies, Job and family that will nag you to stop raiding?
My family pretty much leave me to it as i work hard during the day as a scaffolder. My real name is joe morris which is where the borris and the morris part come into my name Very Happy. I am 18 years of age and my hobbies and interests are usually to go out with my friends at the weekend during the day and night, i will inform Very Happy. and going clubbing lol.

Additional information which you would like to name?
I think the application covers most of it Smile

Rings trinkets and gear all spot on, only questionable choice would be the Neck, id perfect medallion of the disgraced, but im a total block whore, I appreciate some tanks enjoy dodging :p

All in all its a nice application, just a few questions:

Character questions:

You have an Ulduar 25 weapon but no Blade Ward enchant on it, any reason for this?

Why dont you have a speed increase (Persuit of justice or Tuskkars Vitality)?

Why arent you exhalted with sons of Hodir?

Paladin Questions:

With the recent changes to Seal/Judge damage allocation, have you considered Seals of the Pure?

For single target tanking (Ie Bosses) what change(s) would you make to your glyphs?

Now a couple of tips:
Reckoning is a 'Martyr tanking' talent, its pretty useless with Vengeance due to the pathcetic seal hits, id recommend improved hoj and divine sacrifice. (The HoJ has saved my life so many times used defensivly on ulduar trash, 20s cdftw. Also It means you can go on interupt duty with a rogue or smth on specific mobs.) divine sacrifice + sheild wall + lay on hands is pretty pro for aoe damage utility too. :>

Ok firstly to the enchantment, Why didnt i think of it? Cos im a noob and yes i will be putting blade warding on my weapon as soon as i get back from my health and safety test. Secondly, i personally find that for most fights i can anticipate moving earlier rather than later and get away with it and spent the extra 3 points on 3% more increased damage. And also i can admit that i have been slacking with sons of hodir rep but have unfortunately been busy at work (go go recession bad spelling aswell) and have only been able to make raid times and try to do them at the weekend but things are looking sweet as now and could probaly get them exhalted in the next week.

With the seals, Yes i would think about using seals of the pure when i get the 2 set piece bonus from the tier 8 gear which is a massive boost imo. 15% with another 10% on top of this would be quite a massive threat boost and also dps for dps races Very Happy. For changes with glyphs i would probaly use Glyph of judgement for increased threat and also maybe change the hammer of righteous into a glyph of avengers shield for the initial threat increase.

And yes about the HoJ i do spec in this for some fights such as iron council to be able to do the interupts on the twirly doom Very Happy.

I remember Borris from tkott days. He was a solid tank back in the day when pally tanks were a pretty unknown factor. And credit to him he stuck as prot even when the GM didnt want a prot pally to MT anything. Mount Hyjal was a real eye opener.

Thers was quite a bit of drama (and some nasty stuff was said by both sides) from what I remember around you leaving tkott, hopefully thats sorted now Smile

Dont know whats the status of our guild tanks (dual speccing makes stuff confusing Twisted Evil ).

Well written app. Give a trial and see if we can fit him in.

GL mate.

Pretty much all the right answers,
Glyph of judgement was the answer I was looking for, no need to bother with avengers sheild though. I personally dont even use glyph of hammer simply cos I can pick up 5 or 6 mobs wiithout it anyway, but I do appreciate its usefulness.
Right answer with seals of the pure too, conviction can be dropped as thats more of a martyr thing again to accomodate for it.
And the twirly doom was the exact example I was thinking of too!

As for the movment speeds, wrong answer there imo, no matter how early you move, moving quicker is still better than moving slower. Some fights, like general Vezax, when you have to kite him, sometimes he enjoys just running slightly faster than you and catching you, Ive had to take persuit of justice for this. Also on yogg saron its pretty important the tank gets accross the room (its a huge room) before the dps to interupt the big tentacles before the dps get there:p

Either way, we're in need of another tank or two, so im going to offer you a trial. Wisper me or an officer when youre online and ready for an invite.

Oh and, your holy spec needs Aura Mastery (you would be asked to duel spec a number of fights, one of where Aura mastery greatly decreases the difficulty of a fight)
