best specs and discussion on theory and practice of warriorcraft
Ok i am going to make some suggestion based on my experiences and playing about over the last 2 years, including the forum searching over the last few months. Feel free to add anything but make sure it is usful and try to bring some theorycraft if you can because theories need proving. ok lets starts;
pve dps
to me this seems to be the best dps spec atm. i have not specced commanding shout because this will be brought by a paladin usually and since this spec favours using battle stance to make use of overpower procs. To me stance dancing is not worth it with the rate at which we gain rage now, it seems to be more rage efficent to use slam to slow your rage gen. It is possible to catch rage correctly but it requires a good swing timer which is not reset by slam with i have been unable to find so far. Also been testing on the dummies and i have found it is better to use sudden death on proc rather than using and ms or overpower and wait for the next swing to catch the next cd.
pve fury
Although fury dps seems quite low atm, but this was like during early kara and even ssc. The dps u gain from titan's grip should only start to affect you when u get to the new hit cap from the added miss. Getting into tier 8 this should be the prefered spec as you are able to stack you reasonable ap with the crit you need for the same rage generation you used to get tbc. As you can see i have not gone into bloodsurge, the general reason for this is that it is crap, it contribues to around 2% of your overall damage.
tanking
ok i haven't tanked since ssc and another server so shout at me if u think this is a little off. Seems to be to give the highest threstwith reasonable migration avoidance seems to cover most of the major talents, not to sure if it is worth going for warbringer since as vashj show palas know how to use BoF if they need to

I've found stance dancing to be very useful atm... especially when specced into taste for blood in the arms tree. If you're able to keep track of when the buff, and you are able to switch stances quickly (5-button mouse and key bind FTW
) you can be trucking away in berzerker, switch to battle and use OP, lay down a thunderclap for tank support and switch back to berzerker and continue until taste forblood procs again. Been doing a few heroics playing like this and i'm not finding any rage starvaton issues (yet).
Also, if you are fighting numerous mobs, lets say you pull a pack and have no CC, make sure you rend all targets, the TFB proc isn't exclusive to the mob you have targeted... so you will, in theory, get more procs for you to overpower (proc rate is 30% per tick... so the more dots you put up, the more ticks you get, the more procs you will get) and who's gonna say no to getting lots of up time on 2k crits for 5 rage eh?!?!
Finally, if you're tank is generating some nice aoe threat and you have some to play with, Sweeping Stikes and Bladestorm DO stack, so don't be afraid to pop them both and chuck out some seriously nice burst DPS across the targets you attacking.
On the subject of swing timers Dudd... I'm using Quartz atm, i'm personally not sure if its a bit buggy since WotLK came out or if it's some of the procs that im getting that are resetting the swing timer, it'd be nice to know one way or another
