patch 4.0 otherwise know as cataclysm, also known as the ret pally Analgesic face cream patch...designed to make facerolling that little less harsh on the face skin. Smile

on topic: Look forward to reading shia's thoughts. In all honesty this holy power stuff is looking to make pallies a little mite complex...inb4 a surge of huntard rerollers!

With a decent ui i would like holy power but atm with a vanilla ui its terribad to try keep track of with all our procbuffs

You found a mod to track Holy Power yet, as it sucks with the current UI with the slight belay between casting the ability and it showing you the power.

When at 2HP I find myself leaving a delay after every cast to see if I hit that magic 3 so I can hit Verdict, must be a dps loss delaying between casts like that.

edit: and yes, paladin is somewhat more complicated now!

and atm lvling i barely use tv i keep my hp for inquisition with hw and exo and the amount of mastery I've reforged onto my gear its way op atm

Ok ret just got a whole lot more complicated :s
Masterys changed to give autoattacks a 9% chance to proc a buff that allows you to use any ability as if it had 3HP, without consuming any, which only lasts 6 seconds. Every time this procs youre essentially getting a free zealotry/inquisition or Templars Verdict. Add to this the selfless healer talent now gives you a 12% all damage increase for 30s whenever you use word of glory on someone else.

As I see it atm, the dps priority looks something like.

Crusader Stike every cooldown (cooldown variable by haste levels and buffs)
Inquisition up the first 3hp or mastery proc, dont let it fall off (lasting 30seconds, consuming 3hp)
Zealotry up on next lot of 3HP or during a burn phase and every subsequent cooldown
Word of Glory on someone else on the next 3HP and refreshing every 30
Avenging Wrath during burn phases and every cooldown, try to line it up to end just before the boss reaches 20%
Finally you can use the main nuke, Templars Verdict, on every 3rd HP, assuming all of the above are active.
Every time MAstery procs, use either one of the above of a free Verdict.
Exorsism every time Art of War procs.
Then to the filler attacks, judgement whenever possible, aswell as holy wrath, but hammer of wrath before these 2 if Avenging wrath is active. As mana is still a nonissue, consecration every cooldown, and switching Verdict for Divine storm on (I think) 4 or more targets.#

I may be wrong but it seems to be a tad more complex than other specs currently. Keeping up 2 short duration buffs continually, with 2 dps cooldowns that entirely change the rotation (each in a different way) a holy power mechanic that caps at 3 and has to be immediatly used at 3 (making it essentially a proc) and 2 seperate other procs to watch for.

Way I see it, we're gonna want haste to get Crusader Stike down to a 3s cooldown and use it every other global, so we can generate the silly amounts of HP required to run at full strength. After Haste, mastery rating to increase those procs, and lower the strain on the already tight HP resource.

Much fun for the Ret in Cata me thinks.
