Valentia, Shadow Priest (Declined)

Post  Valentia on Mon Mar 08, 2010 6:07 am

General information:
Characters name: Valentia
Class: Priest
Race: Draenie
Armory link: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet...n=Valentia
UI screenshot: Sorry, no screen shot available from raids atm. I will get 1 for you (:
Played Time on your character: 18d, 16h, 26m
Profesions: Jewelcrafting 455/455, Enchanting 140/450 (took it instead of mining, date: 8th of March 2010)
Do you have a stable internet connection: Yes, my connection is very stable. I've usually got around 100ms in raids, depending on the server. Could be a little more, could be a little less d:
What other characters do you have?
Prot/Retri Paladin lvl 80, Survival Hunter lvl 80, Resto/Enh(sometimes ele xD) Shaman lvl 80, Blood(DPS) Death Knight lvl 80, Arcane Mage lvl 73, Arms Warrior lvl 71, Combat Rogue lvl 70, Balance Druid lvl 33, Destruc Warlock lvl 20.
^Only listed the ones from Ghostlands, as this is my "main server".

Raid times and Experience:
Monday 19:30-00:00 - Yes
Tuesday 19:30-00:00 - Yes
Wednesday 19:30-00:00 - Yes
Thursday 19:30-00:00 - Yes
Friday 19:30-xx:xx - Yes - approx 03:00
Saturday 19:30-xx:xx - Yes - approx 03:00
Sunday 19:30-23:00 - Yes
^but.. I'd proberbly like just 1 day off a week, to spend some time at my girlfriend and family (:
Do you have pre-WotLK raiding experience, if so what?
I was in a raiding guild almost all the way through TBC.
Cleared: Kara, Grolls Lair, Magtheridons Lair, Tempest Keep, Serpent Shine Caverns.
What 10 man and 25 man Ulduar bosses have you cleared and of which out of those bosses have you done on hard mode?
Ulduar10/25: Only cleared what I needed for weekly on this char. My pally did 12/14 both 10/25man - no hardmodes.

Character specific questions:
Explain your current gear choices and how you hope to improve then in the future.
Well my current gear is pretty much what you can expect from a shadow priest in an almost non-raiding guild. Gathering what I can from pugs, emblems, and the few raids we currently do in guild.
I've got too much hit, which I'd like to get rid of in the nearest future (:
I'm hoping to improve my gear by Icc and Emblems of Frost, pretty much like everyone else.. d:
Comment on how youve chosen to gem and enchant your character, and why you have chosen these gems/enchants.
Well.. I do have a certain way of gemmíng, to get the best possible dps:
Red: Pure red. ("Runed Dragon's Eye" +29spellpower)
Blue: Hybrid. ("Purified Dredstone" +12spellpower & +10spirit)
Yellow: Hybrid. ("Reckless Ametrine" +12spellpower & +10haste)
Meta: Meta. ("Chaotic Skyflare Diamond" +21crit & 3% increased crit dmg)
As you can see my enchants are pretty much by the book; focusing on my spellpower, haste and crit.
What glyphs are you using and why?
Major: "Glayph of Mindflay", "Glyph of Shadow" and "Glyph of Shadow Word: Death". All chosen to improve my dps.
Minor: "Glyph of Shadowfiend", "Glyph of Fading" and "Glyph of Levitate". Neiter useful, but really.. Any minors are?
Do you have any notable offspec gear and are you experience/up to date with the mechanics of playing your offspecs?
My off-spec gear is at hight with my main-spec gear. I've been trying to keep them "together", so to speak, as a discipline healer instead of a shadow priest is valueable in some encounters. Recently healed Surfang in Icc10, didn't get oom, didn't screw up. Keeping my self updating with changes both in shadow and disc.
We require you to have at least one crafting profession (not engineering). If you have two gathering professions, would you be prepared to reroll one?
I've got 2 crafting professions - one not maxed yet, but working hard on that.

General questions:
Previous guilds and reasons for leaving? I am currently in <Malfurions Militia>, which is the only guild I've been in on this character. My reason for wanting to leave, is simply the lack of activity and progression. I'm raid leader, trying to get us going 3 times a week, but I always end up cancelling or pugging for a 10man team. I want to raid, and I don't want to spend an hour pugging so we can go onyxia10 s: It's slacking, as we've got over 60 lvl 80s, and raids are posted every week.. I'm getting bored and frustrated, so I want to get in a guild, where we actually do raid. The only place our members are taking interest in is Icc, where we've got 3/12 as progress..
What role do you feel you provide in a raid and what areas of strengths do you feel your class and spec has over others? My role in a raid is a strong dps, even when we have to jump around like crazy persons. The fact that shadow priests always are keeping their DoT's up, do make a difference when we need to change to adds - as we're still dps'ing the boss. For the social part of the raid, you'll see me as an enjoyable "companion", as my mood is always high.. Even if we wipe an entire night d:
As a shadow priest I think "Mindflay" is one of my biggest advances, as it keeps a good dps on my target, while slowing it down. This is really useful if we gotta cc encounters, and still kill them relatively fast.
What 1 thing would you change about your class if you could? Hm.. I'd have to say, that we need more "direct" attacks. We've only got "Mindflay" and "Mindblast" to use right now, if we dosen't count SW:D, and MB is on cd for 5.5sec, so yeah, more attacks xD
What do you think you can add to Eternals? A social player, that is available pretty much every day, which likes to learn new things.
What do you think Eternals can do for you? I think Eternals can make the game a little more fun. Make me work a little harder, while I'm still enjoying the social aspect. I think that the more experienced players from Eternals can learn me alot of things - and I wanna learn from the best. *not sucking up, nuh huh* =D

Personal infomation; Name, age, where you live, interests/hobbies, Job and family that will nag you to stop raiding?
My name is Niklas, I'm 19 years old and from Denmark. I'm currently between jobs, and as my girlfriend also plays wow... nothing will nag me to stop raiding d:
When I'm not playing I'm with her or my guys. Got no "real" commitments that is scheduled during the week, so I can make my time to all raids.

Additional information which you would like to name?.
Erhm.. Not really, no. If you've got any further questions; feel free to ask (:

Hello mate first of all nice application just 1 or 2 things i would like to recommend

Spec. Your spec seems fine except 1 talent point you should take 2/2 Improved Shadowform instead of 1/1 Inner Focus and 1/2 Improved Shadowform

Gear Choice/Gems/Enchants. Your gems are fine but 1 mistake you are a Jc and only have 2 Dragons Eyes in your gear Razz. 250 Mana on chest over 10 stats(10 spirit) not good mate since you have glyph of shadow providing 30% of your spirit as sp for 10seconds + you get 10 stam for a tiny survivability boost. Also you took Heartmender Circle the ring over Band of Invoker.

Glyph. You took Glyph of Shadow Word: Death over Glyph of Shadow Word: Pain you may not think so but you are actually loosing dps here since SWP has a 100% uptime due to glyph of Mind Flay
with means you wont need to use Hymn or Dispersion as often meaning more deeps :-)

Good luck with your application

Hey guys ^^
I'd just like to explain the things Kayori pointed out:

I chose 1/2 in Improved Shadowform because I didn't think it would actually matter if I healed a little more - but I'll be happy to respec, if you think it makes a difference (:

Enchant on chest: Fixed.

Rings, well... To please you I bought the other one d: When I chose 1 at first I was mostly playing my disc spec (:

[Improved Shadow Form] does not increase the healing done by Vampiric Embrace thats Improved Vampiric Embrace. Improved shadow form gives you a trinket basicly and reduces the push back while casting witch is really handy.

Also you have JC and only 2 Dragon's Eye gems when you could have 3,t. And again Glyph of shadow word Pain would be more usefull

Thanks

Hello there,

can you explain your gear choices considering your hit rating - atm I see you in armory with 401 hit which considering you are sure you have dreanai in group with you (dont ask me why ;o) ) is about 138 more than you need. Why have you chosen T10 legs which are pretty much the weakest from T10 set instead of upgrading like head or shoulders?

As I said in my application I've got far too much hit, and I'd love to get rid of my (over)hit ^^
- my gear choises is based on the biggest upgrade on spellpower and haste, and that leads me to you next question.

I didn't choose the T10 legs mate, they dropped from, ehm, VoA25 I think it were (: I chose the hands before I got the legs, as my hands were the most poor item on me, and therefore would be the biggest upgrade due to spellprower. As you can see I chose the ones not in T10 set.. As I would get more haste and crit //if I remember correctly//, if I chose these, instead of the set ones (:
^as you can see both my head and my shoulders are ItemLevel 245, since I chose not to go with T9, but the ones that were a little better (:

...but my next item will proberbly be T10 shoulders, to get the 2-set bonus from T10 =D
