Re: Few Minor Up Coming Changes
From what ive been reading on EJ no they wont, so im guessing dropping the points in IS and Glyph, Provided there is a Warlock with ISB was in raid comp. Also looks like there really trying to make Frost far more viable in raids it seems. Also some Glyph changes.
Glyph of Ice Lance -- Your Ice Lance now causes 4 times damage against frozen targets higher level than you instead of triple damage. (Old: Increases the range of your Ice Lance by 5 yards)
Glyph of Ice Armor -- Your Ice Armor and Frost Armor spells grant an additional 50% armor and resistance. (Old: 20%)
Glyph of Deep Freeze *new* -- Increases the range of Deep Freeze by 10 yards.
Glyph of Living Bomb *new* -- The periodic damage from your Living Bomb can now be critical strikes.
Glyph of Arcane Barrage *new* -- Reduces the mana cost of Arcane Barrage by 20%.
Glyph of Mirror Image *new* -- Your Mirror Images gain the Winter's Chill talent, granting their Frostbolt spell a 100% chance to apply the Winter's Chill effect, which increases the chance spells will critically hit the target by 1% for 15 sec. Stacks up to 5 times.
Glyph of Ice Barrier *new* -- Increases the amount of damage absorbed by your Ice Barrier by 30%
From what ive seen the most interesting one is LB looks like this is the one to replace the IS Glyph.

Re: Few Minor Up Coming Changes
most warlocks is demo/destro-fire atm, this might change though as warlocks get revamped again it seems, so go bully leo! 5 scorches vs LB crit, not so sure, but also heard somewhere that'd frostfirebolt refreshed scorched?, might have been the fake patchnotes.

Re: Few Minor Up Coming Changes
Since it would seem (sofar atleast) that 3.2 won't bring many changes for mages, i thought i'd just put them in here. None of it is carved in stone, there may be changes still later.
Mages
* Arcane Blast: Mana cost reduced by 12%. (
)
* Invisibility: Can no longer be interrupted by a hostile action or damage done during the 3 second fade time, however an invisible mage can still be stunned or silenced. (mostly a pvp nerf, i reckon)
* Talents
o Fire
- Empowered Fire: In addition to its existing effects, this talent now also grants a 33/67/100% chance to regain 1% of base mana each time the Ignite talent deals damage. (more mana efficiency for fire spec too)
In addition to this, items which have mp5 on them get buffed by approximately 25%. Not exactly a mage change, but some items used by arcane mages have mp5.
So, as per usual, no major changes, mages are fine, l2p? Love the few changes they did make though! ^^

Re: Few Minor Up Coming Changes
For 3.2.2 there's not many changes (at this point on the ptr, anyways) for us mages again.
- AB stacks up to 4 times
- Mana cost increase for AB stacking is 175%, down from 200%.
- Pyromaniac grants 3% general spell crit, not just fire spells. (though this may have been the case already, it's now fully updated in the armory and in-game stat panes)
Haven't fully checked out yet what other changes, affecting mages, there are; will update this once i have.
edit to un-edit the earlier edit, misread the date of ptr patchnotes.. month old and changed since -,-

Re: Few Minor Up Coming Changes
For 3.3:
As always, it's not definate untill it goes live. However it seems Blizzard decided to give some raid utility to arcane spec too! In addition to increasing the damage of missiles and arcane blast, Arcane Empowerment will also increase all damage done by party and raid members by 1/2/3% for 10 sec. when the mage has scored a critical hit with missiles, ae or blast. (that'll be 100% uptime unless the mage is dead?)
Other than that, nothing new sofar, just a bug fix with some ranks of Flamestrike having a 3s cast instead of 2. Yup, we're fine. Still. ^^

Re: Few Minor Up Coming Changes
Ofcourse. And yes, in a 25man this isn't really the issue, but same goes for almost all (if not all) of raidbuffs/utilities, since it's shared by atleast 2 other classes nowadays. For 10mans, it's very handy though. I'm sure i've been in 10mans with no hunter and no ret pala. Frost and fire spec already had a (also not unique) raid utility besides table and AI, it's nice to see Arcane gets to have some raid utily too now.
@Ronab (or anyone else who knows retlol): What ability is it that rets use to apply the increased raid dmg buff? Is it something of a main ability regardless of the raidwide buff, for personal dps? And howlong does it last/what's the usual uptime? Same questions for the hunters btw, since they can also apply the same dmg buff for the raid. Would be nice to compare.

Its active passivly to all friendlies within 40 yards of the paladin, as the paladin will be in melee range and most ranged dont dps from over 40 yards away, its essentially 100% uptime on all raid members without any concious thought to apply

Its all friendliys within 100 yards for a few seconds whenever the hunters pet crits, ofc the pet needs to be alive for this, though :<
