The use of Army of Dead in raids

Post  Welshknight on Fri Dec 19, 2008 6:51 pm

I wanted to know, if Army of Dead has gone un noticed, or if theres some reason why its not being used. This ability is like an MDx10, it summons 8 ghouls, that are constantly taunting off each other, so you will get about 12 taunts, climbing on top of the tanks and dps nuking, if the MT taunt, his threat will pop up to about 100k within 10 seconds.

You of course cant do on bosses that require to face a certain direction, or kited around, but i just wanted to know if its a good spell being wasted Very Happy

I use it in heroics, and seen it's very usfull, and a use in raids would be awesome.

Its not used for the same reason tanks hate people who use knockbacks when they try to tank. Army of the dead would be marginally useful without the taunt. With it its a partyspell. Arguably the most useful part is the DR you gain while channeling the spell.

Dont get me wrong I can see the uses but there are just too many things that can go wrong when using this spell to boost your dps by a marginal amount. Not to mention the many many MANY bosses you dont want to turn in an unexpected direction.

tbh on most bosses the AoD will not Taunt they will just dps So its basicly only usefull for the use of the channel ( reduce dmg by Parry+dodge%) And IE thats great for sarth+3 Very Happy Atleast for when you run out of CD's

from my experience, the Army taunts in Heroic Dungeons but not in bosses. Its great on a fight like the Achv version of the first boss of AN(Watch him Die).

Aye, its a good use for a cooldown in 3d, but because of the 20min cooldown, its hard to judge when to pop it Razz as if we wipe, its like another 2 wipes until i can use it again

Meaning if i judge it wrong, the next attempt might be a kill with it, and i have it on cd!

But yeah, i get the use of this in raids now Razz Was a really old post when id only been 80 like a week lol
